How to play
This online version of Spider Solitaire follows the rules of the traditional card game, featuring the characteristic movement of cards in descending numerical order within the piles. Complete sequences of 13 cards of the same suit are automatically moved from the playing field to the foundation piles. The game is won when the table is empty.
The aim of the game is to clear all the cards. Move them between the piles, arranging them in descending numerical order (K–Q–J–10–9–8–7–6–5–4–3–2–A). Any ordered sequences of the same suit can be moved together. When you run out of moves, click on the reserve deck. The game will then deal one card to each of the ten occupied columns.
Strategy for Playing Classic Spider Solitaire
The classic strategy for winning at Spider Solitaire is to focus on clearing the piles. This creates empty spaces that allow you to remove the top card blocking a pile, start sequences and complete the layout. Having two empty piles significantly increases your manoeuvring space. Be sure to try this trick!
When people talk about classic Spider Solitaire, they are usually referring to the four-suit version. This is the most interesting and challenging version, played with two standard decks of cards.
