Originally a Minesweeper computer game, named after minesweepers: warships equipped to catch sea mines. The new Minesweeper Challenge follows the same goal – to reveal all mines, revealing only safe cells.
Rules of the Minesweeper Challenge
Each level of any puzzle starts from a grid of unmarked squares. After the first click, some cells will disappear, others will remain empty, and the third cells will contain numbers from 1 to 8. Your task is to analyze the numbers to find dangerous cells with mines and safe ones to click on.
To be honest, the explanation of analysis in the game is like a practical lesson in logic, but we will simplify it for you. In general, the Minesweeper rules have never changed since its inception. But if you are new to the game, you will probably be puzzled by the question – how to use information with numbers.
Think about how the Minesweeper numbers inform about the proximity of the bomb:
- 1 is one mine in the immediate vicinity;
- 2-8 – informs about several bombs in the sector.
The search for mines is carried out by the method of exclusion. For example, if the sector displays the number 1 and this mine is detected, then the remaining unexplored cells are safe. Then you can mark empty cells and further analyze the environment. Each figure indirectly confirms information about the content of adjacent cells.
The classic recommendation for starting the game is to start opening the squares from the corner and move step by step along the field until the information about the content of the cell is obvious. In this, the Minesweeper game is similar to the Sudoku puzzle: success depends on the analysis of adjacent cells until there is only one answer – the only correct one. Cells containing mines are marked with a red flag.
The main thing is not to mark more squares than the number of mines displayed in the upper left corner. The game continues until all bombs have been marked and can end out of turn if you run into a mined sector.
Ready to play Minesweeper Challenge online with a huge grid? Or maybe it’s better to take the Minesweeper online for a while or with open cells? Try all the options and choose the best one. Have a nice game!
Last 1 = impossible?
Not giving N° when square at corner of the 1 with a bomb.
The 1 with open space in centre, did get to last bomb once.
Where be the new levels? These on here years.
Why has it not been fixed? 1’s on corner. Bomb not random?
