- each row, column and 3×3 block contains the numbers 1-9 only once;
- the sum of the numbers of sectors of a certain color is equal to the small number indicated in the corner.

A good start to solving the Killer Sudoku puzzle is to look for individual combinations of cells that can contain only one possible solution, like in a colored block of two cells. You can use the built-in hint, opening up to 10 cells per game.
Use the Rule of 45 – a very popular Sudoku Killer solving strategy, it is based on the need to use numbers from 1 to 9 in each row and column. The sum of all digits of the number series from 1 to 9 is 45. So, in the 3 by 3 block – also 45.
If you can find a block of cells to compare with a set of adjacent rows or columns, given the open pattern 45 – do it! By combining cells and individual numbers in a certain sector, the player can display the result of one cell.
