Would you like to play Chinese checkers, but don’t have an opponent? The online game Halma will help out in this, right now! The game encourages the development of logic, as it requires you to balance defensive thinking with offensive tactics. Will you be able to outwit the enemy and be the first to take his corner?
Welcome to Halma – play online for free, in full screen. This is a digital version of the classic board game Halma for 2 players, invented in the USA in 1883. Half a century later, the game became known as Chinese Checkers, similar to the popular Chinese Domino Mahjong. You compete against the computer, trying to be the first to drive your chips into the opponent’s corner. In fact, Halma is a game of Ugolki with 15 checkers on the playing field 10 by 10.
How to play Halma online
Select the difficulty mode, depending on the desired level of play of the computer opponent: weak, normal, high. Unlike the standard Chinese Checkers with a hexagonal grid (Stern-Halma), the playing field of Halma is square, as it is designed for 2 players.
At the beginning of the game, the checkers of each player are placed in their corner – (the home zone). The task of the player is to be the first to occupy the enemy’s yard. They move in turn, moving the checkers in one of three ways:
- can be moved to an adjacent empty cell;
- jump over a nearby chip (one’s own or an opponent’s);
- jump over several checkers separated by one empty cell.
Movement is allowed horizontally, vertically and diagonally. To move one of your checkers, click on it with the left mouse button. The game will highlight squares that you can move to according to the rules. Touch the desired cell and wait for a response.
Can you beat the computer while playing Chinese checkers on the hardest level? Let’s play and find out right now! If the test immediately seems difficult, we recommend playing Ugolki also online at OllGames. With practice, you will develop the necessary skills. We wish you victories and success!
