Have you heard about the Futoshiki game? Probably not. But a great example of a Japanese number puzzle is here in the online HTML5 version! Why not a reason to test yourself with a new puzzle? Try it right now and have fun!
We invite you to the logic game Futoshiki – play online, for free and without registration. As in Sudoku, you can choose the difficulty, solve the puzzle for a while, or ignore the timer. As a reminder, a slow approach to solving number puzzles promotes relaxation. But if you play logic puzzles for a while, then attention and memory are sharpened.
Futoshiki Rules
Each puzzle consists of a 5×5 grid. Some cells are occupied by numbers or supplemented with greater than and less than signs. Using logic, determine where each digit goes.
Fill in all rows and columns with numbers from 1 to 5, without repeating horizontally and vertically. And also taking into account the signs of inequalities.
You can easily solve Futoshiki on your mobile phone or home computer. While playing on the touch screen, touch the space you want to fill and then the number from the list below.
How to play
Following the general rule with Sudoku, analyze the occupied cells. The figure located at the intersection of a column and a row excludes repetition within its vertical and horizontal limits.
Pay attention to the key difference between Futoshiki and Sudoku – inequality signs in adjacent cells. They will help you understand much more than you think.
For example:
- when cell X > Y, we can remove one from the supposed versions of cell X, and five, respectively, from possible Y;
- if we see the condition: Z < X > Y, we exclude two for X, since two digits must be less at once.
Save yourself from boredom by playing Futoshiki online, it’s free, fun and useful. If you want to improve concentration and attention, try solving Futoshiki against the clock and in each subsequent game try to surpass your result.
