As in most Match 3 games, the player’s mission in Fish Story 2 is to combine at least three identical objects to remove them from the playing field. There’s a move counter and a level setting on the top left. Collect the usual game pieces — fish, pearls, turtles, shells, and jellyfish — according to the list of tasks. Various obstacles, such as algae, mud, ice, sand, and rocks, require you to make moves on certain parts of the game grid. A special element, the anchor, must be dropped to knock out the surrounding tiles.
The further you progress in Fish Story 2, the more challenging the puzzles become. Each level takes five game lives to complete. If that’s not enough, you can purchase more with the coins you earn. Fortunately, in addition to three-in-a-row moves, the game offers bonuses and useful tools. You get a boost each time you make a combination of four or more tiles.
Game bonuses
- Whirlwind: Removes all chips of the same color from the field when a row of five is added.
- Combining the four creates a row that is destroyed by horizontal and vertical movements.
- Intersect: Deletes a column and a row at the same time. It is obtained by combining the intersecting rows.
Fish Story 2 tournament
The special recurring event, “Tournament,” becomes available at level 10 on the level map. Here, you are challenged to maximize your score with a double set of helpful tools. The first three-in-a-row game sets the record, and bonuses are awarded for all subsequent successful attempts to beat it. Make each new tournament more challenging!
