How to play Classic Durak (translation and flip) online
In a traditional game of dummy, each participant is dealt six cards, followed by the dealing of a trump card from the deck. In the online version, players compete against two, three, four, or five computer opponents of their choice. Set the number of opponents and compete to win. The goal is to get rid of all your cards. The player with the lowest trump card goes first. The next player clockwise must beat the played card with the highest-ranked card of the same suit or trump.
A special feature of the Translating Durak version is an additional rule: when there are several opponents, cards of the same rank can redirect the attack back or pass it down the line to the next player. You may attack with more than one card of the appropriate rank, including cards your opponents have beaten back. If a card cannot be beaten, it is added to the hand. The attacker replenishes the draw from the stock deck. The last player left with cards in hand is the “fool.”
Regardless of your strategy, success in Fool’s Turn and Flip comes from observing and memorizing the cards your opponents drop to anticipate the remainder.
