Welcome to Backbone Solitaire – play the free online version of the game without mandatory registration. This is the 3rd improved version of Backbone Solitaire with a user-friendly interface and the ability to play without crashing on a computer, phone or tablet.
Backbone Solitaire is a unique double reserve card game. This is one of the rarest solitaire games of the Victorian era, comparable in complexity to solitaires: Spider 2 suits, Scorpion, Carpet Solitaire. The chance of winning is about 1 in 6.
Description of the Backbone layout
In the center of the solitaire there are 10 pairs of cards – this is the “spine”, it is completed by one unpaired card – the “coccyx”. On either side of the spine is a table of 8 cards, symbolizing the “ribs”. This is a place to sort cards within a suit.
To the right above the main deck there are 6 “houses”, which during the game are filled with cards in accordance with the suit, starting with Aces, deuces, and then in ascending order.
The cards in the table are stacked in descending order by suit, any cards from the deck can be transferred to free cells. From the ridge, you can only transfer the lower unlocked cards and only on top of other cards in the table or houses.
